Why casinos ask
- To confirm you are 18 or over.
- To stop fraud, stolen cards and duplicate accounts.
- To meet anti-money laundering rules set by their licence.
- To check that deposits and withdrawals use your own accounts.
- To enforce self-exclusion and responsible gaming rules.
Which documents
| Check | Usual documents from Rwanda |
|---|---|
| Identity and age | Rwandan national ID card or passport |
| Address | A recent utility bill or bank statement with your name and address |
| Payment | A photo of the card with middle digits hidden, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or mobile money account |
| Liveness | A selfie, sometimes holding the ID |
| Source of funds | Payslips or bank statements, for large amounts |
Your name, date of birth and address must match what you entered at sign-up.
Is it safe?
Licensed casinos must protect your data, but a new casino has no record yet. Upload documents only through the casino's secure account page, never by email to an unknown address, and cover the middle digits of cards.
How long it takes
Automatic checks can finish in minutes. Manual checks usually take 24 to 72 hours, longer at weekends. Until verification is done, withdrawals are on hold. Our guide to casino terms shows where verification rules are written.
