Terms and conditions at new online casinos

The terms are the contract between you and the casino. Five parts decide whether you get your money out: withdrawal rules, identity checks, bonus rules, restricted countries and inactive accounts.

Read those five before your first deposit. They take about ten minutes.

  • Use the search function in your browser for words such as withdraw, maximum, dormant, confiscate and void.
  • Check the date of the last update.
  • Take screenshots of the bonus and withdrawal sections when you sign up.

Red flags

  • A right to cancel winnings without stating a reason.
  • Very low monthly withdrawal limits, such as the equivalent of a few hundred dollars.
  • Fees on every withdrawal.
  • No regulator or licence number named anywhere.
  • Terms that can change without notice and apply to past play.

Questions

Casino terms: questions

Which part of the terms is most important?

The withdrawal section: limits, times, fees and the documents needed.

Do I have to read all of the terms?

At least the sections on withdrawals, verification, bonuses and restricted countries.

Can a casino change its terms?

Yes, usually with notice. Changes should not apply to bonuses already claimed.

What is a dormant account fee?

A monthly charge on accounts with no activity for a set period, often 12 months.

Who do I complain to?

First the casino, then the regulator named in the terms.

Responsible gaming

Play only if you are 18+ and it stays fun

These rules apply on every page of this site. A young casino has less history to judge it by, so the limits matter more.

18+ only

Adults only, everywhere

You must be 18 or older, and older in some countries. A casino can ask for ID before your first withdrawal, and new casinos often do.

New brands

Start small with an unknown casino

Deposit an amount you would accept losing to a failed withdrawal, and request a small cash-out early to see how the casino handles it.

Limits

Set limits before the welcome offer

Bonus wagering keeps you playing longer. Set a deposit limit and a time limit in the account before you claim.
