What to look for in a new card game
- The payout for the main bet, compared with the classic version.
- Side bets and their edge, usually listed in the help screen.
- Table limits that fit your budget.
- Whether the game is live or RNG, which changes the pace.
Six tips
1. Learn the basics before anything advanced
Know the rules and the cheapest bets. In blackjack that means a strategy chart, in baccarat the banker bet.
2. Practise for free
RNG versions usually have a demo. Use it to learn new variants.
3. Set a bankroll and a unit
With RWF 40,000 for a session and a unit of RWF 1,000, you can ride out normal losing runs.
4. Watch a live table first
Most live games let you watch a few rounds before you bet. It shows you the pace and the betting window.
5. Keep records
Note the game, stake, time and result of each session. It shows you where your money actually goes.
6. Keep staking simple
Flat stakes are easiest to control. Progressions do not change the edge.
